NEW TECHNOLOGIES – OLD TEACHING METHODS?

This conference was a forum for teachers, teacher trainers, materials developers, testers, course book designers and those involved in any area of Foreign Language Teaching for Specific Purposes (FLSP) – business, technical, legal, social services, specific careers, etc.

We shared our experiences through talks, workshops and poster presentations, and we were inspired by new ideas and other points of view – to stay up to date and be as effective as possible in reaching multiple goals.

The following questions were explored in this conference:

• What aspects of our teaching do not change with new technology?

• How has a variety of new technologies changed the way we teach?

• Do these technologies have an impact on humanistic approaches and cross-cultural aspects of FLSP?

• How does this technology help us find and use material, assess students’ progress, design our curricula, and help us forge a path into the future?

Creating a link between past and future in FLSP
